Our connection to Europe
A permanent European base for relationships, communication and market development. The Prague-based team is made up of a South African expat living permanently in Prague, who developed leading products with our suppliers while based in South Africa, and a local Czech who spent many years living in South Africa before exporting his own teas from South Africa and introducing them to the Czech market.

Our European relationships are led by a South African native who spent over two decades developing FMCG brands and products, then relocated permanently to Prague, Czech Republic — origin and destination, held by the same person.

Before Tribe & Origin existed, this team developed the world’s first certified pod designed for tea espressos — launched under the Mutea™ brand, built on our own Ecopod pod technology, and later extended into the CBDTEA™ range. Rooibos Limited formulated the exclusive espresso blend behind it. The product went on to win Pick n Pay’s Innovation Award and a National Small Business and Emerging Business Award. Representing Rooibos Limited in Europe today is a continuation of that relationship, not a new introduction.

Our Czech colleague spent many years living in South Africa before exporting his own teas from South Africa and introducing them to the Czech market — direct experience on the Czech side of the trade too, not just the South African side.
Together, the Prague team covers both directions of this business from personal experience: one who took South African products and built them into international brands, and one who took South African tea and brought it home to Central Europe himself.

We represent one of South Africa’s oldest dried fruit producers, exported globally — already trusted to produce private label for a leading South African retail group with operations across sub-Saharan Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The range spans prunes, figs, Turkish apricots, home-grown Bon Chretien pears, peaches, nectarines, Pink Lady apples, pineapple, mango, and dried berries and cherries, plus fruit rolls — a much-loved South African treat, for chewy, real fruit snacking anywhere. Available under your private label or as store own-brand.
We represent one of the longest-established rooibos processors in South Africa — over 70 years in the industry, tracing back to the original body that set quality standards for the category. Rooibos from its natural home in the Cederberg, certified FSSC 22000, EU Organic, USDA Organic, JAS, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, Kosher and Halaal, among others — available as conventional or organic. Alongside rooibos, we can source other indigenous Cape botanicals — including fynbos, honeybush and buchu. Available under your private label.
Formats include: tagged and tagless tea bags (2g or 2.5g), pouches from 50g to 200g, loose leaf from 200g to 2.5kg, catering and espresso pods, and bulk packs up to 9kg — each configurable with your own branding.
